Growing up not having a father to speak of really sucked. I understand that my parents got divorced when I was extremely young. Shit happens. I also understand that my dad has lived in the same city as me my whole life and has made little to no effort to be a part of my life. His loss.
I am SO very happy to be around to raise my children. Watching them grow up has been just amazing. I couldn’t imagine not being a major part of their life.

I mean seriously, look at that face. I couldn’t fathom just walking away from that without some sort of knock down, drag out fight. (I would have snapped a pic of monkey boy as well but he’s still at school.)
Not looking for a pitty party as I know we all have our problems but I was starting to get bummed out earlier thinking about growing up fatherless. But hey, its fuel to drive me to strive to be the best father I can be.
Oh and by the way, songs sung by The Laurie Berkner Band get stuck in your head very easily. I’ve known this for a while but today is one of those days where its extremely noticable.
