I’m proud to be a Father

I’m proud to be a Father

Growing up not having a father to speak of really sucked. I understand that my parents got divorced when I was extremely young. Shit happens. I also understand that my dad has lived in the same city as me my whole life and has made little to no effort to be a part of my life. His loss.
I am SO very happy to be around to raise my children. Watching them grow up has been just amazing. I couldn’t imagine not being a major part of their life.

I mean seriously, look at that face. I couldn’t fathom just walking away from that without some sort of knock down, drag out fight. (I would have snapped a pic of monkey boy as well but he’s still at school.)
Not looking for a pitty party as I know we all have our problems but I was starting to get bummed out earlier  thinking about growing up fatherless. But hey, its fuel to drive me to strive to be the best father I can be.

Oh and by the way, songs sung by The Laurie Berkner Band get stuck in your head very easily. I’ve known this for a while but today is one of those days where its extremely noticable.

Mustaches Everywhere!

Mustaches Everywhere!

For MonkeyBoy’s 6th Birthday we decided to put together a Super Mario Party themed shindig. There were a handful of late nights up crafting getting everything ready, but it was well worth it. He had a blast as did all of his friends that attended the party.

Here are a handful of pictures from the Game portion of the party:

Movie Time

Watched this again with Monkey Boy and the Shredder. Not as exciting as I remember the book being while reading it as a kid but still great none the less!

Grrrrreat!

Grrrrreat!

Woke up feeling great this morning. A little irritable but great over all.

For Breakfast I made ham, mushroom and egg white omelettes for Mama and myself. Very tasty and even with a light english muffin and the coffeemate in my coffee, my calorie total was 289.

Before breakfast I stepped onto the bathroom scale out of habit and was pleasantly surprised to see that I was down 5.5 lbs. Not too shabby for one days work.

That Camel is Smiling…

That Camel is Smiling…

I was digging through some pictures on my hard drive and came across this gem. That’s Mama and Monkey Boy up there on that camel. He was anything but happy to be up that high on a tall, smelly, moving, animal. His face was priceless!
